What’s the Best Troop Type for Monsters?

Evony has four troop types: Ground Troops, Mounted Troops, Ranged Troops, and Siege Machines. Each type serves a different purpose, and the first three are mutually restraining, meaning there is no single “best” type overall.

Ground Troop

• The best choice when attacking enemy Ranged Troops

Mounted Troop

• The best choice when attacking enemy Ground Troops

Ranged Troop

• The best choice when attacking enemy Mounted Troops

Siege Machine

• A solid defensive unit, offering some defensive capability regardless of the attacking troop type. When the enemy’s main city is heavily defended, use Siege Machines to prioritize destroying the enemy’s defending Siege Machines, creating openings for your other units to attack.

For Monsters

• Mounted Troops are best for attacking small monsters and boss monsters. However, for certain special event monsters (such as Pan), the ideal troop type depends on the situation — these monsters will indicate the recommended troop type, so choose accordingly.

Additionally, when attacking monsters, use a single troop type and a single level whenever possible. Avoid mixing multiple types or levels, as this results in more wounded troops.
